Celebration of International Yoga Day
International Yoga Day is celebrated every year on 21 June to raise awareness worldwide about the benefits of Yoga in daily life. Yoga brings balance between body, soul and mind. It helps us to understand the purpose of life and how to survive in the changing environment.
A Mass Yoga session was organised at Kundan Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School Ludhiana as part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. Nearly 300 people of the staff both teaching and non teaching, support staff and students participated in the event. An awareness on the benefits of yoga was created. The gathering performed Surya Namaskar. Miss Mini Walia initiated the session with meaning of Yog and Meditation Session.
Mrs. Anita Pandit explained the importance of Yoga in the life of youngsters. She explained that regular practice of Yoga will help the students achieve better mental and physical health. She started the Yoga demonstrations with the Yoga prayer. After which a few warmup and simple Asanas were performed by the students, Support Staff of the School and the teachers enthusiastically and theimportance of these Asanas was explained.
The Principal Mr. A. P. Sharma explained the importance of breath in meditation. He encouraged the students to practice Yoga and meditation on a regular basis for a healthy body and mind. The importance of Yoga day celebration was reiterated.
